Peer Reviewer Proccess

Brader Journal of Nursing and Midwifery (BJNM) employs a rigorous and transparent peer review system to ensure the publication of high-quality, credible, and scientifically valid research. Our review process is designed to be fair, constructive, and efficient, upholding the highest standards of academic integrity.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment by the Editor-in-Chief to determine their suitability for the journal's scope and basic quality standards. Manuscripts that pass this stage proceed to a double-blind peer review process. In this system, both the identities of the authors and the reviewers are concealed from each party to minimize bias and promote objective evaluation.

Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent experts in the relevant field. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, publication record, and experience. They assess the manuscript for its:

  • Originality and significance
  • Methodological rigor
  • Validity of results and conclusions
  • Clarity of presentation
  • Ethical soundness
  • Relevance to nursing and midwifery practice

Reviewers provide detailed, constructive feedback to help authors improve their work, regardless of the editorial decision. The editorial team makes the final decision based on the reviewers' recommendations, which may include:

  • Acceptance without revision
  • Acceptance with minor revisions
  • Major revision and resubmission
  • Rejection

Authors are typically notified of the initial decision within 8-12 weeks of submission. The journal is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards throughout the review process, in accordance with COPE guidelines. All reviewers and editors are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest, and strict confidentiality is maintained throughout the process.

We believe this robust peer review system not only ensures the quality of published articles but also contributes to the development of nursing and midwifery science by providing valuable feedback to researchers and promoting academic excellence.
