Abstract

Uterine myoma is a benign tumor commonly found in women of reproductive age and may lead to various complications, including preoperative anxiety, intraoperative bleeding risk, and postoperative infection. Comprehensive nursing management is required to improve the patient’s quality of life. This case study. Objective: To describe the application of Benson relaxation therapy in reducing anxiety and providing perioperative nursing care for a patient with uterine myoma after undergoing myomectomy. Method : This study employed a case study design using the nursing process approach, including assessment, nursing diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The main intervention was Benson relaxation therapy in the preoperative phase, accompanied by close intraoperative monitoring and infection as well as respiratory complication prevention in the postoperative phase. Result : The study showed that Benson relaxation therapy helped reduce preoperative anxiety, although it was not completely resolved. Intraoperative monitoring and blood transfusion collaboration successfully controlled the risk of bleeding, while infection prevention and family education in the postoperative phase maintained the patient’s stability. Conclusion : Perioperative nursing care with Benson relaxation therapy is effective in reducing anxiety, preventing complications, and maintaining the patient’s physiological functions. These findings emphasize the importance of applying evidence-based nonpharmacological interventions in nursing practice.
