Focus and Scope: Brader Journal of Nursing and Midwifery (BJNM)

The Brader Journal of Nursing and Midwifery (BJNM) is an open-access scientific journal managed by and for the academic community in the fields of nursing and midwifery. The journal's mission is to publish original research articles, systematic literature reviews, and innovative case studies that have a significant impact. The published contributions are expected to directly support the development of scientific knowledge and enhance the quality of clinical practice, education, and policy in the healthcare sector as a whole.

BJNM emphasizes its focus on various aspects related to comprehensive nursing and midwifery services. This scope covers the entire spectrum of healthcare, from health promotion (promotive) and disease prevention (preventive) to curative treatment and rehabilitation. This holistic approach ensures the journal addresses the needs of patients and communities at every stage.

The journal's scope is detailed into several main areas to provide clarity for prospective contributors. First, in Medical-Surgical and Critical Care Nursing, the journal covers topics such as pain management, palliative care, nursing for chronic and degenerative diseases, critical and emergency care, nursing technology in intensive care units, and perioperative nursing. Second, in Mental Health and Community Nursing, the scope includes psychiatric nursing interventions, mental health promotion, community nursing and family health, community empowerment, and health disaster management.

Third, in Maternity, Child, and Reproductive Nursing, relevant topics include antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care; nursing for newborns, children, and adolescents; reproductive health and family planning; prenatal education; and early detection of pregnancy risks. Fourth, specifically in the field of Midwifery and Women's Health, the journal discusses midwifery care for normal and high-risk pregnancies, early initiation of breastfeeding (IMD), cancer screening, women's reproductive health across the lifespan, as well as ethics and law in midwifery practice.

Fifth, in Nursing and Midwifery Management, the focus is on clinical leadership, care management, service quality and accreditation, nursing information systems (SDKI, SLKI, SIKI), patient safety, and stress management among healthcare workers. Sixth, in the field of Nursing and Midwifery Education, the journal welcomes articles on innovative learning models, competency-based curriculum development, clinical reasoning, the utilization of educational technology, as well as the assessment and evaluation of learning outcomes.
