Abstract

Background: Femur fractures are fractures that occur in the thigh bone (femur), caused by direct or indirect trauma to the thigh area or pathological conditions such as osteoporosis. Post-surgery is the final stage of perioperative nursing, which begins when the patient is transferred to the recovery room until the patient is transferred to the inpatient room or intensive care unit. One of the main complaints of patients with femur fractures after they regain consciousness from surgery is limited movement (mobility impairment). Objective: To determine the patient's mobility before early mobilization, assess changes in the patient's mobility after early mobilization, and analyze the effect of early mobilization on the patient's mobility. Methods: This study used a case study design on a 66-year-old female patient who had undergone femur fracture implant removal and was given education and demonstrations on how to perform early mobilization after surgery. The intervention was carried out once a day for 10-15 minutes. Conclusion: Early mobilization is effective in reducing joint stiffness, accelerating healing, and increasing patient independence in activities.
