Publication Ethics

Ethical Guidelines and Publication Integrity

Brader Journal of Nursing and Midwifery (BJNM) maintains unwavering dedication to upholding the highest standards of scholarly publication ethics. Our journal strictly follows the international ethical frameworks established by leading organizations in academic publishing, including the core practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) recommendations. The complete guidelines we adhere to can be accessed through their official websites at http://publicationethics.org and http://www.icmje.org.

Research Ethics Compliance and Author Responsibilities

BJNM places paramount importance on ethical research conduct. For studies involving biological subjects, specific requirements must be met:

  • Animal Research:Manuscripts describing experiments utilizing live vertebrates or higher invertebrates must contain in the methodology section: (a) explicit identification of the institutional ethics committee that granted approval, and (b) verification that all experimental procedures strictly followed established ethical guidelines for laboratory animal welfare.
  • Human Subjects Research:Articles reporting studies with human participants must include: (a) disclosure of the approving institutional review board, (b) confirmation of adherence to ethical principles such as the Declaration of Helsinki, and (c) a clear statement regarding informed consent acquisition from all participants or their legal representatives.

The editorial board may request formal documentation of ethical approval at any stage of the review process. Manuscripts that fail to demonstrate proper ethical considerations or where ethical concerns arise during evaluation will be subject to rejection. We believe that maintaining these rigorous ethical standards is fundamental to promoting credible and responsible research in nursing and midwifery sciences.
