Hypertension is known as the Silent Killer because it is often asymptomatic but has a fatal risk, with a high prevalence in the elderly which can cause physical, psychological complications, and sleep disorders due to unhealthy lifestyles, while mindfulness relaxation techniques have been proven effective in reducing stress and stabilizing blood pressure through a relaxing effect on nerves and blood vessels. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of mindfulness relaxation techniques in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients at the Maccini Sawah Community Health Center. The method used is a case study on Mrs. N, a 59-year-old elderly with hypertension, including mindfulness relaxation technique interventions, healthy lifestyle education, and collaboration in administering Amlodipine 5 mg, with a three-day assessment to evaluate blood pressure, pain, and patient knowledge. The results showed a decrease in blood pressure from 167/92 mmHg to 141/80 mmHg, neck pain reduced from a scale of 5 to 2, increased knowledge about hypertension, the patient's ability to perform deep breathing relaxation independently, and reduced complaints of insomnia and anxiety. The conclusion shows that mindfulness relaxation techniques are effective in reducing blood pressure and pain in elderly hypertensive patients, and with healthy living education and pharmacological therapy, mindfulness is a safe non-pharmacological intervention to improve the quality of life of patients.
