Abstrak

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by hyperglycemia due to impaired insulin secretion or action. One of the non- pharmacological strategies to control blood glucose levels is the 3J diet education (type, amount, schedule). Methods: This study used a case study design involving Mrs. A, a type 2 diabetes mellitus patient at Maccini Sawah Public Health Center. The intervention consisted of providing 3J diet education for three consecutive days, including dietary regulation based on portion size, food type, and meal timing, along with encouragement for light physical activity. Results: After the education, the patient’s knowledge improved; she was able to identify recommended and restricted foods, and began to implement a regular eating pattern. Blood glucose monitoring showed a decrease from 165 mg/dL before education to 158 mg/dL after education. Conclusion: 3J diet education proved effective in improving patient knowledge and contributed to a reduction in blood glucose levels. Continuous education involving family support is strongly recommended to optimize diabetes management outcomes.
