Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) is characterized by the presence of ulcers, infection, or tissue damage in the lower extremities associated with neurological impairments and peripheral vascular disease. Conventional wound care often shows limitations in achieving optimal healing outcomes in DFU cases. In contrast, the moist wound healing method using modern dressings is reported to create a more conducive wound environment, thereby accelerating tissue regeneration and reducing the risk of complications. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of modern dressings based on the moist wound healing principle in patients with DFU treated at Griya Afiat Clinic, Makassar. The research utilized a case report design with a descriptive approach involving one patient (Mrs. S) diagnosed with DFU. The findings revealed significant clinical improvement after treatment, indicated by increased patient comfort, reduced tissue integrity impairment, resolution of edema, and absence of new lesions. The progressive improvement of the wound suggests that this method supports optimal granulation tissue formation and epithelialization. Therefore, the use of modern dressings based on moist wound healing is proven effective in promoting faster DFU wound healing and reducing the risk of infection.
