The Effect of Self-Control on Anxiety Levels Among Final-Year Students of the Bachelor of Nursing Study Program at STIKES Gunung Sari Makassar in 2025

Background: Final-year students often experience anxiety during thesis preparation due to academic pressure and graduation demands. Self-control is considered a factor that may reduce anxiety levels.Objective: To determine the effect of self-control on anxiety levels among final-year nursing students at STIKES Gunung Sari City Makassar in 2025.Methods: A quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted on 49 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Instruments included a self-control questionnaire using a Likert scale and the HARS anxiety scale. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank test (α = 0.05).Results: Most respondents had high self-control (38.8%) and mild anxiety levels (42.9%). The Spearman test showed p = 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship.Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between self-control and anxiety levels. Higher self-control is associated with lower anxiety among students.
